International Monument
 

The monument Christ the Redeemer is a famous statue located in Rio de Janeiro, at the top of Corcovado Mountain. It is a symbol of  Brazil that represents peace and love, with Jesus with open arms. Every day, Christ the Redeemer receives an average of 5,000 visitors.

Up there we can contemplate part of the wonderful city.

The monument is 38 meters high, with the statue being 30 meters and the pedestal 8 meters (this height is equivalent to a 13-story building).

As it is a famous tourist spot, this sculpture also expresses the hospitality and friendliness of the Brazilian people, who welcome people with open arms.

Christ the Redeemer was inaugurated on October 12, 1931, the day of Our Lady of Aparecida.

In 2007 he was chosen as one of the new 7 Wonders of the Modern World.
